[kiera plays along, flinching with exaggeration as the summon bonks her and poofs. they are... almost jealous that it's lucas, and takes its place back on his shoulder.]

That's very charming, especially for you. [a wink, before she twirls her own fingers and tosses a small and imperfect ruby toward him.] This is the best I can do at the moment.

[Luca stumbles forward, catching the ruby betwixt his hands. The shift in his concentration, however, causes the bird to immediately poof away. He makes a face, but says nothing of it. Instead, his attention turns to the gift.]

I believe it fits, considering your corvid brain. [A faint laugh.] Perhaps we may yet build another empire. We may not be able to establish a vineyard, but perhaps we can sell jewels under the Aurelius name?

[there's a soft laugh as she forms a couple more gems in her palm, then closes her hand and shakes them together. clicky clack very satisfying.]

I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're onto something. Infinite precious gems seems like a terribly easy way to inflate the economy to the point of rendering money worthless, however...
